It’s the season of Lent ~ the period from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday
It’s the season of Lent ~
the period from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday. It is a time of preparation for
Holy Week, which recalls the events preceding and during the crucifixion of
Jesus Christ. Three traditional practices to be taken up with renewed vigor
during Lent are:
Prayer (justice towards God),
Fasting (justice towards self),
and
Almsgiving (justice towards
neighbor)
Might this also be a time for you
to consider taking another step in your faith journey by joining a Covenant
Group? There is always room to grow, both within
the existing groups and by creating new groups. There are eight groups meeting on a regular basis to
provide through intentional fellowship an
atmosphere to nurture one another spiritually,
physically, and emotionally. Each group is
unique, choosing its own study materials and developing its own meeting style
as they seek to learn more about Worship,
Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry and Missions.
